FNA RESIDENTS UPDATE | TEMPORARY ACCESS CONTROL CHANGES

This is an update to inform residents within the FNA cluster of disruptions to security protocols - specifically vehicular and pedestrian movement between Friday, 13th of June - Sunday, 15th of June 2025.

INTRODUCTION

  1. HRM The Oba of Oniru is celebrating the 5th anniversary of his coronation.

  2. Events will take place at the Palace, located on Palace Road between Friday, 13th of June and Saturday, 14th of June 2025.

  3. The celebration will attract an inflow of guests, Palace road will be filled with vehicles.

Abisogun street will also be utilised for cars to park and decongest Palace Road. This was the norm prior to the barriers being set up.

  1. Oniru Estate has also indicated that all barriers into the Oniru Estate will be open during the celebration to ease congestion.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR RESIDENTS WITHIN THE FNA CLUSTER?

  1. During the celebrations on Friday, 13th and Saturday, 14th of June, there will be changes to how residents and guests can access the cluster.

2. Friday 13th of June

a. Oniru estate will have their barriers OPEN (Mabogunje, City of David etc)

b. Abisogun barriers will be OPEN. (Commencement is subject to confirmation from the security teams)

c. This means there will be no restriction or stickers or access code required to enter the cluster.

d. Ihuntayi gate will be OPEN additionally.

e. If there is congestion on palace road and within the cluster Abisogun (South) gate facing the alternative route might be opened.

f. At 8pm all gates within the cluster will be CLOSED, with entry and exit being ONLY via Abisogun barriers with access code and sticker requirement for entry.


3. Saturday, 14th of June

a. Oniru estate will have their barriers OPEN (Mabogunje, City of David etc)

b. Abisogun barriers will be OPEN.

c. This means there will be no restriction, stickers or access code required to enter the cluster.

d. Ihuntayi gate will be OPEN additionally.

e. If there is congestion on palace road and within the cluster Abisogun (South) gate facing the alternative route might be opened.

f. At 10pm all gates within the cluster will be CLOSED, with entry and exit being only via Abisogun barriers with access code and sticker requirement for entry.


4. Sunday, 15th of June

a. Oniru estate will have their barriers CLOSED (Mabogunje, City of David etc)

b. Abisogun barriers will operate as normal based on access codes and stickers.

c. Ihuntayi gate will remain OPEN to RESIDENTS ONLY (Vehicle stickers only) between the hours of 6am - 8pm.

Please note:

i. This gate will be ENTRY ONLY, NO EXIT.

ii. NO pedestrian access, NO code access.

iii. EXIT will be by Abisogun barriers only.


REMINDER TO RESIDENTS

  1. We caution residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious behaviour during this period as unknown people will be within the estate and the cluster.
